This summer, grapefrute is proud to once again sponsor the “24uurs van Maastricht” beer festival. From June 23-25, the festival features specialty and craft beers from around the world, in the most beautiful and historic settings in Maastricht. Along with food, crafts, tours, and special events, it’s an amazing event for beer lovers of all kinds.

The “24uurs van Maastricht” beer festival is an annual event hosted by PINT Regio Limburg, the Limburg beer association. The festival started in 2013, and has grown every year since then, with a hiatus in 2020 and 2021. This year, the festival is bigger than ever, with a third day of tastings and events for beer lovers.

PINT Chairperson Jorge Boosten says:

We are a bunch of beer geeks who love to experience different types of beers from around the world. We wanted to have an event that encouraged tasting and sampling, and that featured more craft beers and small breweries that you don’t see everywhere. Our festival features the breweries themselves at their booths, instead of just market stall servers, so it’s a great opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the beers from the experts.

On Thursday, June 23, 24uurs van Maastricht will feature beers from the Limburg region of the Netherlands and Belgium. On Friday and Saturday, the festival will expand to include more than 60 breweries from around the world, giving visitors a taste of beers from Eastern Europe, the United States, Scandinavia, and more.

The festival also includes food and snacks, along with special events for beer lovers. Take a tour of the historic Bosch Brewery or the Stadsbrouwerij Maastricht, or enjoy a beer walk through beautiful Maastricht. The festival will also feature masterclasses and other ways to appreciate beer and beer culture.

One of the most special aspects of 24uurs van Maastricht is the setting. The festival takes place in the heart of Maastricht, at the Helpoort, the oldest city gate dating back to 1229. It also extends to the nearby d’n Hiemel and the Faliezusterspark, in gardens on the river Jeker.

Boosten says:

It may seem like a summer beer festival would be very crowded and maybe unpleasant, but because we have all these different spaces, it keeps it open and comfortable. Every room has a different vibe, so people can move around and explore the different spaces. It’s also a great way to meet people; it’s easy to strike up conversations about what you are tasting and trying, and people make new friends every year.

Grapefrute has been a sponsor of the festival since 2016, and has been happy to help it grow over time. We are proud to be a part of helping people find exciting new flavors and have new beverage experiences, and supporting the breweries and organizers who bring these events to life. See you at the festival!
