Job description:
  • Lead the Technical Service Field team Chocolate on the locations Moeskroen and Berlin
  • Manage and prioritise the project pipeline for customer focused projects in line with the Product Line Business strategy and in cooperation with Sales and Product Line Management
  • Ensure smooth execution of the project portfolio and ensure flawless transfer into production meeting operational standards
  • Identify and understand customer needs and translate these into tangeable innovative product offerings & solutions
  • Identify market trends and transfer these into new opportunities and projects for Cargill in cooperation with Marketing and R&D management
  • Capability building and strategic workforce planning in line with Chocolate strategy
  • Cooperate with and leverage the capabilities of the various Technical Service, R&D and Application teams in Cargill across the various Product Groups
  • Responsibe for the technical management of Key Account customers
  • Develop innovative products and solutions in application area of Chocolate
  • Lead longer term Innovation initiatives and projects for the Chocolate product line
  • Member of the R&D management team of CCC EMEA and contribute to strategy development and execution
  • Build and develop a high performing team that is technically trained and resourced to meet future demands

 

Principal Accountabilities

20% Business management

  • Build, manage, execute and deliver on a prioritized project pipeline to build and defend value creation to support the Product Line Strategy of Chocolate
  • Translate Product Group Strategy into operational plan for the Technical Service Field team Chocolate
  • Leverage knowledge generated from projects to maximize value creation
  • Contribute to SKU and product portfolio management in cooperation with Product Line management
  • Collaborate within PG CCC, FIBI and function partners to maximize value creation to support the BU&PL strategies
  • Ensure compliance to safety, health, environment, legal and IP rules, processes and strategies

 

30% Customer partnership

  • Provide technical support to customers to maximize value creation to support the Product Line Strategy
  • Develop the technical customer relationship, including key R&D decision makers, to understand customer strategy and needs and transfer these into tangeable projects
  • Build Customer Development Plans together with commercial and Product Line Management

 

30% Talent & team management 

  • Lead the Technical Service Field team Chocolate on the locations Moeskroen and Berlin
  • Build and lead own team to achieve a high performance team, including strategic work force planning
  • Ensure team members have a targeted development plan and support them in achieving their goals
  • Attract, select, onboard, develop and retain key talent
  • Develop and support capability building plans for Chocolate PLM to be the recognized industry leader
  • Value and leverage differences

 

10% R&D leader

  • Develop technical solutions (internal and external) individually and with the team to maximize value creation and to support the Product Group and Product Line strategies
  • Communicate an record knowledge in agreed formats like SFDC
  • Network internally and externally to collect and share common best practices and to leverage technology and knowledge
  • Contribute to the Product Group and Product Line strategies through reporting market and business trends, unmet needs, opportunities and competitive information

 

Qualifications

  • MSc or equivalent in Food Science & Technology or equivalent
  • 10+ years work experience
  • Demonstrable success as manager
  • Demonstrable success as technical leadership in Chocolate
  • Demonstrabel success with change mngt
  • Experience with project- and portfolio management
  • Demonstrable success in networking/ collaboration/ building relationships (internal and external/ cross functional and multi-cultured teams)
  • Demonstrable success in negotiating matrix organizations  and ambiguous situations
  • Demonstrable success in building competitive advantage through technical capabilities re innovation  and creative solutions
  • Fluent in spoken and written in English. Preferably spoken as well in another business language, preferably French
  • Written and oral communications and presentations
  • Technical reporting
  • Deep technical expertise in area of Chocolate
  • Project management
  • Customer relationship management (internal or external /technical tag)
