Duties and responsibilities

Reporting to the Quality Compliance Manager, you will provide Technical Support to the site in the area of quality, food/feed safety and legal compliance and act as a main point of contact for Micro, audit program, quality investment projects and assisting the introduction of new brewing and packaging materials.

You will:

  • Comply to Environment, Health and Safety, Food/Feed Integrity and GMP (including HACCP) standards
  • Ensure appropriate SLA’s are met in regards to maintaining quality standards and specifications
  • Co-ordinate all quality improvement projects and initiatives through our world class manufacturing program
  • Analyse microbiology results, sets ups, co-ordinates and follow up appropriate actions
  • Co-ordinate internal and third party audits by external bodies including FEMAS & BRC
  • KPI accountability as per internal reporting structure
  • Constantly drive to ensure responsibility and accountability are embedded at all levels within the day to day operation
  • Lead by example by positively challenge under-performance and reinforce good behaviours
  • Ensure all projects are managed on time and to budget
  • Assist with capital projects as required
  • Motivates team to achieve departmental KPI’s and deliver high standards of performance
  • Support the Quality First Line Manager in the management of the quality team.
Required competency and experience

  • Results focused with a strong attention to detail and an ability to work flexibly to achieve departmental goals
  • Strong organisation skills with a structured and systematic approach, adhering to deadlines, able to work on own initiative and prioritise workload effectively
  • Ensure effective management of significant change issues
  • Contribute excellent knowledge of manufacturing principles, tools and techniques and project management principles
  • Ensure successful delivery of process improvement initiatives
  • Excellent computer, numeracy, literacy and verbal communication skills
  • Degree (or equivalent) qualified in a related scientific or engineering discipline

Our Samlesbury brewery, located near Preston is less than 5 minute’s drive from junction 31 of the M6. In a single day, Samlesbury brewery can produce 3.5 million bottles, 1.7 million cans and 17 thousand kegs which means the site’s annual production capacity is approximately 2.5 million hectolitres per year.
