Regional Marketing Lead High Tech Crops Europe

To further develop and grow this ambition we are looking for a marketing professional in the position of Regional Marketing Lead High Tech Crops, who connects long term strategies and anticipated market needs and trends. Next step is to translate these demands to marketing plans in Europe for High Tech Crops, Tomato, Cucumber and Lettuce.


As Regional Crop Lead you are accountable for translating crop tactical plans into the regional marketing plan and to follow up implementation within the region. In this position it is key that you develop global crop market intelligence. Furthermore, you lead and foster the crop community within Europe. You understand the business drivers of glasshouse horticulture and you will be focusing on the crops Tomato, Cucumber and Lettuce.

This role can work from home office or local BASF office in most EU countries.

The main responsibilities of the Regional Crop Lead:

  • Successfully implementing the regional marketing plan
  • Steering the regional crop assortment and repositioning commercial assortment
  • Delivering regional pricing on crop introduction and repositioning
  • Launching new and adapting existing crop concepts and collaborating with relevant stakeholders for building an introduction strategy
  • Developing a sales forecast and taking accountability for the accuracy of the figures
  • Demand planning for the region and developing a regional specific crop portfolio
  • Developing market intelligence for the crop to create innovative customer solutions
  • Bring added values to customers by focusing on customer specific market development activities and capturing market trends


In this role you will join a highly dedicated team of Regional Marketing Leads and Marketing Specialists reporting to the Regional Marketing Manager. In close collaboration with the Sales organization and the Regional Marketing and Sales organization you drive market development activities for Europe.


You are a Marketing and Sales professional with B2B experience and a strategic thinker. With your sound business understanding you can translate business context into value adding Marketing and Sales actions. Furthermore, you are a team-player with high quality standards. With your entrepreneurial personality you are able, to challenge the status quo and to bring the sales department to the next level.


  • Academic working and thinking level, broad knowledge and  marketing experience in a B2B market;  e.g. agriculture, horticultural produce, food ingredients, soft commodities or similar and international business (min. 5 years)
  • Excellent relationship building, influencing, interpersonal communication and personal presentation skills
  • Demonstrates leadership, professionalism, and integrity at work
  • Willingness to implement strategic plans as well as to spontaneously take on responsibility and dive into a broad range of tasks
  • Regional and some international travel up to 50%
  • Excellent mastering of the English language
